Same issue as other reviewer. After about 6-8 months of heavy play the plastic around the center metal piece cracked and eventually it just broke in half. The adjustable spring is really good and I play a lot better with it. I liked it enough to replace it, but if it breaks again I will probably just go higher end. If you are a light to medium use player, this is definitely the peddle for you.

I got this pedal after the one that game with Rockband (special addition) broke. It has a much nicer feel than the original pedal and my kicking improved. It is definitely of higher quality, but the plastic part of the pedal cracked after about 9 months of heavy play. The metal piece still holds it together, but you can feel it bend where the plastic cracked, so the feel isn't as good any more.
Update: OK, 5 more months have passed, and now the plastic is cracked in multiple places and the pedal no longer registers most kicks. I will need to go purchase another pedal.

works well, even better along side a second one. Played a lot with dual bass drumming so it really does help.

The Bass Pedal alternative for the DD-55 is too expensive for me. I took a chance on the BlockHead Pedal at Goodwill, and it works! It isn't perfect, but neither am I.

I could not get the pedal to work with Guitar Hero Drums, or Rock Band Beattles drums. And the back part of the pedal broke within those 5 mins of testing. Seems great if you could get it to work...
