Bought this game for my boys who are 10 & 11 years old. Game has many lakes and fish to chose from. You

cast your lure and then you watch your lure under water to catch fish. Many cool features to watch

under the water along with a fish your trying to catch. The biggest fish they have cought was around 40lbs.

There is also boat racing and the boys have alot of fun playing with that also.

What i like about the Kinect is that there is movement for the kids.

They have to use there bodys alot to play the game. Great exercise.

I'm almost 50, but enjoy playing this game a lot. One of my first reviews for a game is called Rapala: We Fish with Rod Bundle, which I somewhat enjoyed. The main difference between Rapala for the Wii and Rapala for the Kinect are updated graphics and more detailed environments. Driving the boat is still an issue that hasn't be worked out. Driving the boat for the Wii version had it's problems. Driving the boat with Kinect is still not fun. You must hold your hands above your shoulders for the Kinect sensor to pick your motions up. The boat driving is very clunky. :-(

Graphics wise, this is a step up. Environment wise, We Fish had much better environments, even with 480i graphics. The environments made We Fish a lot more fun.

Fishing: Fishing with the Kinect version is fun, much more so than the Wii version. To lure the fish and hook the fish is pretty easy and satisfying. After you hook the fish, you can choose a hard, easy, or enter semi-Promode which leads to Pro-mode. You basically hold out your arm following the Rapala character on-screen. It's pretty simple, but when you hear all the bells and whistles, you feel happy. Basically, that's it. This is a happy game, which isn't frustrating at all. I think the game was targeted towards a younger audience, and I think I'd enjoy playing this title over and over if I were a kid. As an adult, I feel happy that I spent 20 dollars for this. :-)

This is a GREAT game the whole family loves it. My husband and I are not gamers and we loved it, it gets us doing something together more often with our busy lives.Rapala for Kinect

Honest reviews on Rapala for Kinect - Xbox 360

This game is great. Its a lot of fun when you are playing the 2 player mode. The game can be a tad of a challenge and it will give you a bit of a workout. I have only played the game a few times but really enjoy it. I only a problem with landing the fish sometimes. It seems to be hard replicate what they want to bring the fish up in the boat. All in all this is a great game to pass the time away until the real fishing season comes around.

First I must mention that this is the first fishing game I have ever purchased, so if anyone else has played any other Rapala games and know more about this game than I did, this review may not be for you. Perhaps all Rapala games are similar to this one and people are OK with that.

While I did not expect anything close to a realistic fishing simulation, especially due to the Kinect's limitations, I was very disappointed to find out that the movements a player makes to cast and catch fish are absolutely nothing like actually fishing. You flail your arms everywhere in various motions to play the bulk of the game. To cast, you aim with your left arm and then swing your right arm to cast it, nothing like casting with a pole. To reel in and snag fish, you perform actions such as waving your hands in circles and punching the fish. Really. It's basically just a fish themed party game, and even there it fails. The menus are hard to manipulate and even with a properly tuned Kinect, the game has trouble detecting more than one person.

I was really hoping to get a simple and lighthearted fishing game that at least somewhat resembles actually fishing, but instead I got some kind of awkward, poorly executed series of arm waving minigames that just happens to have fish in it. I wouldn't recommend this to people who want a game to goof off with friends and family, and I especially wouldn't recommend this to anyone expecting to recreate the fishing experience in their living room.
