I feel I must first point out that the graphic I see in the current page for this game shows a French title, and raises the question of whether GmbH is selling a foreign version or the American version. This is the American version. I received mine yesterday and the cover clearly says "Legendary Edition," not "Edition Legendaire."

This is an amazing game that completely captures the feel of the Games Workshop board game of the same name, and is a step above the previous versions, in that every race that you can play in the board game is now available for play in the computer version!

If you are not already familiar with the board game, there is a very intuitive tutorial that will take you by the hand and guide you through learning the game. However, as many have already pointed out, this game has much in common with chess; just because you know how the pieces move and what the rules are, doesn't mean you know the strategy just yet. But that comes as you play! And best of all, the game shows you what consequences your moves will have: will you need to dodge from that guy, how far can you move safely, what's the range if I want to pass, and (most importantly) if I throw a block on that guy, what are my odds? It is also very easy to tell which of your players have moved and which haven't.

The game supports single-player, internet multi-player, LAN multiplayer, and hotseat games, so you should never be at a loss for opponents!

The graphics are stunning, even at a reduced level for those of us on "normal" PCs, and not gaming boxes, and the animation is smooth as can be! The sounds are good, too, although the announcers (funny though they are) start to repeat themselves fairly early on.

I must mention, however, there are a few bugs, as you will find if you visit the bloodbowl-game dot com forums and look at technical support. They are issuing fairly regular updates, however, fixing the bugs as they go, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue. But some of these bugs can cause you to lose your progress in a game, which can be frustrating if you've been doing *really* well up to that point. (Then again, if you've been getting your rear end handed to you, one of those bugs may come in quite handy!)

All in all, this is the best computer version of this game to come out so far, and is an excellent intro to a classic board game that is still selling today, after more than 20 years! Buy it!

I've been playing Chess since I was a child, and I've also been a huge fan of sports as well. This game combines both loves along with cool RPG leveling up of your players for what I think is the ultimate strategy/rpg experience. I played the Xbox version of Blood Bowl, but this version is definitely superior with all the additional races and modes and stadiums. I would caution new players that even with my Chess background I found Blood Bowl to be extremely difficult to win a game on at first. Once you fully grasp the strategy concepts though, the game opens up to you and is insanely addictive. I could not be happier with this purchase and am headed back to the Blood Bowl pitch right now !

I've been playing Blood Bowl, the table top game for nearly 20 years now. A few years back I moved to a new city and the only time I got to play anymore was when I went home for vacation.

This PC game fills the long void left by not being able to play anymore. 20 teams to choose from, you don't have to keep track of stats on a paper sheet, worry about eraser marks, or spilling your lunch all over your team sheet. No worries about your opponet cheating.

Now I'd been playing for so long, and we had changed the rules for all the leagues I played in so there is a bit of a learing curve. Stand Firm only does half of what we read it to do. Diving tackel has been dumbed down so that it's not as powerful as it once was. Most teams can only have 1 big guy, and the treeman CAN'T throw a wood elf catcher, which doesn't make any sense to me, but hey, it's still FUN.

If you loved the table top game, this is just as good. Great job with the graphics, you can name your own players, some of them you can modertly change their looks.

There's a known problem with opening the right port to connect to play your friends on line, but after you fix that your good to go.

They have an interstesting story mode where you manage and coach different teams through different senarios, one game you have elves and you have to get 2 TD's, 2 fouls, and 2 dumpoffs. It's interesting and it gives you a chance play different teams.

Overall I'd recomend this game despite it's flaws, if you loved the table top game you'll love this as well.

If you've never played the table top game, BB is a cross between chess and madden. Give it a try.

I'm a big fan of Blood Bowl and have really enjoyed the legendary edition. The matches are a lot harder as you move up, which was something the first one was missing and having all the other teams out there makes it really fun.
